AGENDA FOR THE MAY PARISH COUNCIL MEETING – 13TH MAY 2026 7:30PM

To be held at the Elders Centre, Berry Lane, Great Preston,

on Wednesday 13th May 2026 at 19:30hrs

Members of the Council are summoned to attend this meeting. Meetings are open to the press and public. The press and public may only speak during the 15 minute public forum Open Session.

AGENDA 13th May 2026 G&LPPC MEETING    

Open Session – members of the press or public may raise any matters concerning the Parish.

  • Each Parishioner will be allowed a maximum of 5 minutes to speak to the Parish Council. Thereafter any member of the Press or Public remaining for the duration of the meeting are silent observers and must not take part in any question, answer or discussion.
  • Complaints to the Council are not permitted during the Open Session and should be addressed via the council’s Complaints Policy. If detailed points are raised, then this must also be put into writing.
  • The Council cannot take a decision on any points raised at public session unless the issue is specified on the agenda.
  1. Chairperson’s Welcome and Open the Meeting;
  2. a) To receive apologies and accept/approve reasons for absence
  3. b) To disclose or draw attention to any disclosable pecuniary interests and any other significant interests, or dispensations required.

 

  1. To confirm that the Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on the 25th March 2026 be signed as a true and correct record

 

  1. To receive information on the following on-going issues and decide further action where necessary

3.1 To receive any updates on the residential encroachments into Peasecroft Wood and decide on any next steps

3.2 To accept a quote for legal services

 

  1. Finance March, April & May 2027

4.1 To receive and note a bank/accounting system transaction reconciliation

  1. a) To note the bank balance as of 14th April

4.2 To receive and approve the Financial Schedule

4.3 To receive and note budget forecast comparisons to actual spend

4.4 To receive and approve the 5 year spending plan

 

  1. Governance and Policy

5.1 To appoint an Internal Auditor for the 2026/27 financial year and accept their quote

 

  1. Administrative/Management Matters – to receive current reports, advice or updates from any of the following and resolve further actions:

6.1 Village Hall

  1. a) To receive any updates from the Village Hall Management Committee
  2. b) To consider an amended quote for the replacement emergency lighting to reflect weekend working

 

6.2 Villages Maintenance

  1. a) To discuss and agree any jobs considered outstanding/in need of carrying out around the villages
  2. b) To discuss options and prices for the Village Hall fire doors

 

  1. Parish Projects or Issues and Environment – to receive any current reports or updates and resolve any further actions on any of the following:

7.1 Public reports

7.2 Environmental

  1. a) Woodland Management
  2. i) To approve the Woodland Management Plan
  3. ii) To consider the quote for the preparation of the application for a Higher Tier Countryside Stewardship Woodland support grant

 

7.3 Play area

  1. a) To discuss any actions required

 

7.4 Events

  1. a) To provide updates on any planned events
  2. b) To approve the quote for the Christmas lights display for 2026

 

 

  1. To consider any new planning applications and decide whether to respond:

 

  1. To receive any other Communication & Correspondence

9.1 To receive information about communications, meetings or training attended by Members and the Clerk.

9.2 To consider the following new correspondence received and decide any action where necessary.

 

  1. To notify the clerk of matters for inclusion on the agenda of the next meeting

 

  1. Date of Next Meeting – to consider and agree date of future meetings of the Council.
